探讨中医药学基础理论名词术语英语翻译的原则、方法和规律。通过对中医药学英译、国外医学论文和有关汉英翻译的书刊文献资料检索,作者认为借鉴医学术语构词方法的历史经验,研究医学英语构词规律,从而运用到中医药名词术语英译中。以多种方法作为中医药英译的方案;以译词简约精炼为中医药名词术语英译的原则,逐步使中医药名词术语英译规范化、标准化。

To discuss the principles, methods and laws for English translation of terminologies in traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） basic theories. The author suggested that the word-formation laws of medical English should be explored in referring to the historical experience of medical word-formation by way of retrieving Chinese and foreign literature concerning TCM English translation, and applied in the English translation of TCM terms. The program for English translation of TCM should be multiple method, the principle for word chosen should be concise and chastening, thus to gradually make the English translation of TCM terms standardized.
