This paper introduces the status quo of the interest-rate system in China＇s money market and analyzes the influence of Shibor on the system. According to the authors, Shibor lies at the nexus of China＇s reform process to leave interest rates to market forces. Therefore, financial product innovation should be accelerated; the basis for Shibor construction must be consolidated; and Shibor must undergo faster development, thus improving the interest-rate system in China＇s money market.
