The paper briefs the significance on planning the railway network for 2010 and analyses the situation of the railway transportation after the Ninth 5-year Plan and introduces the consideration, principal and strategic target and the guide lines of 2010 plan and also provides the imagination and the proposals of policy for constructing the 5 main corridors of railway network, namely northsouth, southwest, northwest, northeast and 'Sanxi' for coal transportation lines.
