Review of the Achievements in Bridge Crossing Design in China

中国地形地质复杂，众多河流不稳善变，修建桥渡所遇到的困难问题甚多。我国工程研究人员通过实践和试验研究，取得了很多可喜的成就。本文仅就铁路桥位选择，桥长的决定和桥渡冲刷计算这３个方面的成就作简单介绍。

There are many achievements in bridge design and construction in China.This paper will descrike simply some of the achievements in bridge crossing design.The first case involves how to select the location of a bridge crossing over unstable rivers,suchas a braided river in the mountain frontage and a river passing through the alluvialfan.The second involves how to decide the opening length of a bridge crossing over an unstable river.And the third involves how to calculate the scour around bridge piers,such as the general scour.Local scour scouring in cohesive soil and stratified soils and the composition of scourings around a bridge pier.
