Halliday的语篇纯理功能指的是人们在使用语言时如何组织要表达的信息,使之成为语义连贯的整体。语篇纯理功能分为三个子系统,即主位-述位系统、信息系统和衔接系统。运用这三个系统对《宿建德江》原诗及英译文进行分析,说明翻译过程中考虑语篇功能的重要性。

Textual metafunction in Halliday＇s systemic functional grammar means people use language to organize information they express and thus make the information semantically coherent. Textual metafunction has three systems, theme-theme system, information system and cohesion system. This paper uses the theory of the three systems to analyze the poem Mooring on the River at Jiande by MENG Hao-ran and its English versions. It tries to show the importance of textual metafunction in translation.
