In the September of 2001, the typhoon named Na - Li brought storm and the floodwater made the Taipei MRT 18 station flooded. To avoid the MRT station and tunnel from being flooded again as weft as to protect public and transit personnel and properties from damages caused by flooding, the Department of Rapid Transit system, TCG built floodgates. This paper is discussing the floodgate building process. Besides, a duly close-open operation and interfacing system of the floodgate can ensure the safety of the train traveling in the tunnel while situation happened. The process of setting up monitoring system is listed as one of the key discussion points in the content.
