The short story ＂Moderato Cantabile＂by Duras is a vivid description of the woman writer＇s life and mood, in which the feature of love is discussed：its inducement and its destruction.With the help of the main character Anna, Duras expresses her fiery desire for love, and meanwhile unable to obtain sweet and eternal love, she feels alternately painful.By means of alcohol and magnolia as the main tools of description, Duras shows her melancholy,and her slow and sad literary style.The whole novel is like a cantabile andante, leading readers to the wonderful world of love.
