This 300m high tower is located in Frankfurt＇s city center, close to the main station; the location and its excellent transport links have been exploited to the full in design of this multi purpose city development project. The tower-like construction rises like a‘campanile＇, right next to the older, low-rise station complex, combining with the latter to form a single ensemble. The tower is composed of a base zone, scaled to match the surrounding development, and encloses arcade-like entrances and passageway, in the style of the railway station. Above this base rises the shaft of the tower, its sculptured contours and detailing visually externally the various internal functions. The campanile is crowned by a shaped roof area with antennas. The steel-framed tower is used as a luxury hotel and offices. The shopping arcade in the lower section is linked with infrastructure already present in the district.
