This paper, the waste of resources what the large - scale architecture of location - based services （LBS） is applied in the small- scale LBS system was analyzed. The architecture that is suitable for the small - scale LBS application and based on J2EE and SQL Server relational database were proposed. Meanwhile, the concrete design plan was provided. The key technology and the difficult points of this architecture faces had been studied, the feasi- bility of this solution and typical examples were elaborated in detail. The board space for development of the archi- tecture that is suitable for the small - scale LBS application was summarized finally.
