The main factors that small and medium sized foundry enterprises should be considered for their survival and development are introduced. Through analyzing the successful experiences of independent technology innovation in Honggang Power Station Equipment Foundry-Forge Co., Ltd., some assumptions and countermeasures are put forward for small and medium sized foundry enterprises to survive and develop in order to not only establish the status of the biggest foundry country, but also become a much more stronger foundry country.
