近年来，国际干散货市场不断挑战历史高位，代表市场总体走势的BDI指数屡创新高。以2007自年为例，2007年国际干散货市场持续火爆，BDI指数于11月13日达到历史高点11039点。进入2008年，国际干散货市场继续呈大幅振荡走高态势，BDI指数一度冲破11000点大关，并于5月20日报收11793点，再创历史新高。
