On Sallustius's Place in Roman History of Historiography

撒路斯提乌斯是罗马共和时期的政治家、史学家。他的作品无论在选材上、写作上都有自己的独到之处。他从当时政治、军事事件入手，以道德为评价准绳，尽量客观地描述了公元前2世纪～公元前1世纪中叶罗马社会的发展状况，他的史学思想和写作特点对后来罗马和西方史学家有一定影响。

Sallustius was a statesman and historian during the Roman republic period. His works are unique whether in terms of subject matter or writing style. He depicted as objectively as possible the social development of Roman during the period from second to the first century BC by starting from the then political and military events and using morality as the measurement for evaluation. His ideas on history and his writing characteristics had considerable influence on later Roman and westem historians.
