On the Foundation of Typical Meaning of Literature Image

"真实地再现典型环境中的典型人物"是典型论的重要命题。考察文学形象的典型性,不应简单地把形象和时代特征相对应,不应该仅在这样的关系中考察个性与共性的统一,而应该把文学形象和现实中的人联系起来,在更大范围、更深的层次去创造典型,去认识形象的典型意义。

One of the important propositions of the theory of typicality is to reconstruct truely a typical character in a typical environment. However, a study of the typicality of a literature image is not simply a match of the image with the features of the time, nor is it a study of the unification of individuality and generality. Instead, it should associate the literature image with people in real life so that we can understand the typical meaning of the image and to create images on a larger scale and a deeper level.
