Jean - Francois Millet was a painter as well as a farmer. From his paintings we can know his commiseration to the farmer,his critism to society and his devotion to the pastoral life. This article combines MiUet＇ s personality with his drawing theme and analyses his labour paintings, in order to interpret his realistic style and unique value.
