On Cultural Differences of Nonverbal Noise Between English and Chinese in Business Communication

人类交际有两种渠道:语言的和非语言的。非语言交际中存在着大量的非语言声音。不同的民族文化的差异,也使得这些非语言声音差异颇大。在跨文化交际中,我们应加大对这些非语言声音的中英对比研究,尽可能地避免其带来的误解,使得对外政治、经济和文化等多领域交流可以保持有效、通畅。

There are two channels of human communication： language and non-verbal. Large numbers of non- verbal noise exist in nonverbal communication. Due to different cultural differences, non-verbal noise have substantial differences. In cross-cultural communication, we should increase the comparative studies on these noise, avoid the misunderstanding as far as possible, and make the external political, economic and cultural communication more effective and smooth.
