Considering the production practice, this paper presents the significance of using roll surface reasonably from the following aspects：increasing production efficiency, product quality and decreasing production cost. According to the statistical data, it analyzes and sums up the damage causes of roll surface, puts forward concrete measures on how to use and protect the roll properly.
