Through the application of the earthwork synthetic material in the expressway construction, the author describes the extensive application of the new material in the expressway construction, summarizes six functions of the earthwork synthetic material such as the reinforeement, the filtration, the drainage, the isolation, the anti-seepage and the protection, and points out the application principles which are the adaptation to local conditions, the reasonable drawing materials, that is beneficial to the construction, that is easy to maintain, which makes the earthwork synthetic material play the best function in the expressway construction.
