By building engineering design example, many ways were explained to reduce engineering cost by scheme comparison, ground treatment, bar selection, economic span and reasonable thickness of slab, non-bearing wall selection, storey height control, caution conception design and index control in building design, especially in compute aided design, which provided references for designer.
