Song Jiang is one of the most important characters the author has tried to portray in Heroes of the Marshes, and the core of his personalities lies in the two words：loyalty and righteousness, which has led him to success and has caused him failure. The dilemma of loyalty and righteousness has been there through Song Jiang＇ s life, which becomes the basic content of his personalities.
