简论张旭、怀素草书的不同表现

Comment on Differences of Zhang Xu and Huai Su's Cursive Script

张旭、怀素均是唐代草书大家,尽管特色相近,风格同类,但又有着较大区别。性情上,张旭至情至性,怀素平和冷静;书法表现上,张旭追求情感的抒发,怀素则排斥感情;张旭追求动感,怀素则追求造象;张旭着眼于意,怀素则着眼于法度。风格上,张旭浑厚凝重,怀素简净爽利;张旭显得颠,怀素显得狂。

Zhang Xu and Huai Su are cursive calligraphers of Tang Dynasty. Although the characteristics are similar to each other, there still exist great distinctions. Zhang Xu is sensitive while Huai Su is mild on disposition. Zhang Xu stresses emotional expression while Huai Su is opposite to it in their works. Huai Su pursues writing rules while Zhang Xu doesn＇t. As to style, Zhang Xu＇s work is bold and vigorous while Huai Su＇s work is simple and fluent, and Zhang Xu＇ work is crazy while Huai Su＇s work is wild.
