探讨了美国20世纪初和20世纪80年代分别产生的两部女性题材作品——《他们仰望上苍》和《紫色》,对比研究了这两部作品所描写的受压迫女性摆脱传统束缚寻求自我过程的不同,进而分析了不同时期妇女解放的不同特点。

This paper makes an analysis of two different periods＇ women novels-Their Eyes Were Watching God and The Color Purple. Both novels are about oppressed women＇s struggling against traditional constraints and their searching for self-consciousness. But the ways to self-consciousness they chose are different. One depends on heterosexual love while the other on sisterhood. These differences o- riginate from their different social backgrounds and reflect the different characteristics of women＇s liberation at different periods.
