The economic and trade interaction between China and Japan facilitates the advancement of Sino-Japanese relations. Today, in an era of economic globalization, the common challenge that both Japan and China face-energy and environment problems -will become the pivotal issues that define the economic tie between the two countries. It presents a good opportunity for the relation between China and Japan to return to a normal state. The cultivation of a healthy economic and trade relationship will benefit from intensive cooperation between China and Japan in such fields as energy-saving and environmental-protection. Such a cooperation meets the fundamental interests of the two countries.
