On the Historic Significance of the Confucian View of Principle and Flexibility

在儒家哲学(伦理学)中,孔子是第一个提出"经权"观念的哲学家。继孔子之后,孟子和荀子明确表达了经与权的关系,并达到了较为完备的理论形态。在儒家"经权"关系的展开中,同时显示了这一理论本身的积极意义和消极意义。

In Confucian philosophy / ethnics, Confucius was the first to put forward the idea of ＂principle and flexibility＂. Later, Meneius and Xunzi explicitly stated the relationship between principle and flexibility, thus moving it towards a more sophisticated theoretic level. This paper, apart from discussing the relationship between the two, reveals the positive and negative sides of this theory.
