A Breaking out Journey——Analysis on the Resolution of the Tntellectuals' Pain of Lose in the New Period

《人到中年》、《废都》、《桃李》的主人公所代表的知识分子形象经历了由"圣人"到"凡人"再到"俗人"的转变,这个转变过程反映出新时期知识分子阶层逐渐世俗化的倾向。知识分子的世俗化有自身的原因,也有更深层次的社会原因。社会观念的变迁使知识分子面临着传统价值观不断被否定的危机。为消解失落之痛,寻找在新的历史条件下恰当的社会定位,知识分子开始了自己的"突围之旅"。

The intellectuals portrayed in three novels, Middle Age, Deposed City, Peaches and Plums transform from a saint, mortal to philistine, reflecting that they gradually tend to be secularized in the new period because of personal and social reasons. The big change of social views forces intellectuals face the crisis that traditional values are denied. In order to resolve their pain of lose, they begin a breaking out journey to relocate themselves properly in society in the new period.
