摘要功能性食管疾病（functional diseases of the esophagus，FDE）是功能性胃肠疾病的一部分，以典型的食管症状为表现，而不能用结构障碍、病理组织学异常、动力紊乱或胃食管反流病（gastroesophageal reflux disease，GERD）来解释。因此，如有食管异常酸暴露、相关症状与胃酸反流关系密切或抗酸治疗有效时，宜首选诊断GERD。
