摘要
美国学者孟旦运用一种创造性的方法,抓住流水、家庭、镜子、身体以及植物等结构性形象以朱熹关于人的概念为突破口,再现朱子哲学思想,解释长期以来困扰儒家的关于"人"之概念的两组对的观点,并将复杂的朱熹人性观念体系凝结成一种有关联的、和谐的整体。
Donald J.Munro uses structural images in his study of Zhuxi's works,such as stream,family,mirror,body,plant,etc.,to explain the latter's concept of man,and to reconstruct his philosophical system.As a result,Donald J.Munro reconciles two polarities of the concept of man in Zhuxi's philosophy to make it a perfect whole.One is the polarity between the family preference and the obligation for altruism beyond the family,the other is the polarity between self-discovery of morally relevant truths and those objective rules of conduct formulated by others.
