There are full of beauties in the dietary delineations of Shen Congwen＇s novels, such as the beauty of simple, natural, free and symbolization, even though he was not inclined to delineate diet sedulously in his novels. These delineations reflect both the aesthetic taste of ＂pastoral songs＂ and the common of popular diet in west Hunan Province.
