运用近代科学体系研究羌族宗教开始于19世纪末、20世纪初,已经走过了近一百年的发展历程。羌族宗教经过国外学者的初步研究和国内学者从20世纪30年代末开始的开拓性研究,于20世纪80年代中期进入成熟期,并实现了搜集、整理原始宗教资料的目的。目前,羌族宗教的研究取得了长足的发展,进入了多元化发展时期,从比较研究阶段发展到了多学科研究的高度。

The study of the Religion of the Ch＇ iang is started with the modern scientific system from the end of 19 th century to the beginning 20 th century. Its research process is about one hundred years. After the pioneering study by scholars at home and abroad since the end of the 1930s, the research of the religion of the Ch＇ iang centered its maturity in the1980s, Lots of firsthand materials about the Religion of the Ch＇ iang were collected and sorted during this period . Nowadays, great progress has been made on the study of the religion of the Ch＇ iang because of developing the interdisciplinary research.
