按照美国噪声法规的要求,到2000年所有只满足第二阶段噪声规定的飞机都要用新飞机取代或安装消声组件或更换发动机.首先,美国的航空公司还必须保证在1996年末使他们的飞机机队的65%满足第三阶段噪声规定的要求,然后1998年末达到75%.更难以满足的是航空环境保护委员会(国际民航组织的一个分支机构)已提出第四阶段噪声规定.按照欧盟的噪声法,所有不符合噪声规定的老飞机都应在1995年4月1日停止使用.但因经济困难。
The stricter noise-control legislation has forced airlines to consider the approach to reducing the noise emitted by their aircraft not to meet the Stage 3 noise requirements, which means good business for the engine hushkiters.
