The importance of some parameters to demulsifiers perfomance was introduced. Parameters include preferred alkane carbon number PACN, dynamic interracial tension gradient DIFTG and interracial membrane strength. Possibility and problems about application of hyperbranched polymer and dendrimer for demulsifying crude oil emulsions were reviewed.
