康熙在位61年,是中国历史上执政最长的皇帝。由于他善于引进和使用西洋先进科学技术,使社会各方面都取得巨大进步和辉煌成就,制瓷业也得到高度的发展。在制瓷方面,不但恢复了明代各种釉色和品种,而且在胎釉、纹饰各方面都有很大发展,创烧了许多釉色和彩色新品种,这是其他任何时代无法与之相比的。

Kangxi is on the throne for 61 years, which is the longest in the Chinese history. He is good at introducing and using the western advanced science and technology, so the country is prosperous during his region. The porcelain industry achieves huge progress and glorious triumph in the period. The Qing porcelain develops on the foundation of the remarkable achievements of the Ming, and attains a very high level indeed. Not only restores the porcelain-making techniques in Ming dynasty, but there are also new developments in glazing techniques, decoration and color combinations. No time is comparable with that period.
