The Social Role of Vocational Higher Education

高职教育除了经济功能外,尤有强大的社会性功能。主要表现在通过发展高职教育,能大大推动高等教育大众化进程,使高等教育大众化得以实现;同时弥合了高等教育结构上的重大缺陷,使之趋向结构合理化;还能缓解就业压力。

Besides the economic role, vocational higher education plays a great social role mainly in that by developing vocational higher education, the popularity of higher education can be promoted and realized. Meanwhile, it fills up the deficiency in higher education structure, which is made rational. It also reduces employment pressure.
