As a large number of expressways in China enter maintenance period, preventive maintenance technologies such as slurry seal, modified slurry seal and micro-surfacing are being paid more and more attention. Based on the definition, specification and application scope, the paper analyses the similarities and differences among slurry seal, modified slurry seal and micro-surfacing, which would help highway engineers to proceed from actual conditions according to different locality with scientific attitude, thus carry through strict selection.
