Academic Freedom in Colleges from the Perspective of Responsibility & Ethic

学术自由是西方学术传统,是追求真理的先决条件。学术责任是学术自由的先决条件。科学就其实质而言是求真,就其目的而言是求善。合规律性与合目的性统一于学术自由的追求中。学术自由只能在"善"的框架下进行,因而学术自由是有限自由。

Academic freedom, the precondition of seeking truth, belongs to western academic traditions while academic responsibility is the precondition of academic freedom. Science is to seek truth according to its essence and is to seek goodness according to its purpose. Regularity and purpose should be unified in the pursuit of academic freedom. Academic freedom only can be carried out under the frame of goodness, so academic freedom is the limited freedom.
