Orlando: A Biography is a fantasy fiction by Virginia Woolf, in which the cross-dressing and sex-changing Orlando moves through numerous historical and geographical worlds and lives through 400 years. This article analyzes how Woolf displays her transgender idea from three aspects--ambiguity of gender identity, cross-dressing, and time and space transcendence, intending to further explore the philosophical connotation reflected in transgender conception.
