Objective： To analyze the background and current situation of concept the third terminal concept and explore the construction of its pharmaceutical information service system. Methods： A further analysis was made according to the present study results and practical experience of the third terminal. Results： The construction of pharmaceutical information service system should meet the requirement of reasonable medicine purchase and use, with the functions of information delivery, search, feedback and transmission, and emphasize the standardization, information supervision and full utilization of various media. Conclusion： The third terminal concept is a sort of high summarization of pharmaceutical market phenomenon, which needs to be supported by a good pharmaceutical information service system.
