Rhetoric is both a linguistic and a cultural phenomenon. Zhang Ailing＇s works show the intimate relations between culture and rhetoric. This article takes her works as examples, analyzes the meaning contained in the met-aphor phenomenon, and reveals the influence produced by the individual cultural background on rhetoric.
