Beginning with a brief account of the development of the ATC satellite communications network in civil aviation, this paper puts emphasis on analysing and summing up the concept, components and characteristics of the network's chief equipment--the TES/PES system and to facilitate the customer's operation of it, gives an introduction to the features of its functions.
