This article focuses on what influences French Revolution takes to English Romanticism and studies both English Romanticism before French Revolution and French Revolution＇s promotion and disunion roles in the development of English Romanticism. As regards to what many critics argue about the disunion of English Romanticism after French Revolution, the author states that the so-called ＂passive Romanticism＂ and ＂active Romanticism＂ are only two trends of English Romanticism instead of two totally different schools. Their differences are as follows： facing the failure of French Revolution, they express different feelings; towards the disillusive reality, they put forward different motions and as literary trends, they develop in different directions.
