目前,地名管理和使用出现的种种混乱现象,可归咎于地名规划编制的缺位。地名规划是地名学和规划学交叉融合的产物,其与城市规划在规划构成、规划对象和规划层次等方面都有联系,因此在实践中需要规划部门、地名管理部门和民政部门等的相互协作。厦门(新)站片区的道路命名规划立足于《厦门市地名总体规划》,依据片区功能定位和道路等级,按照主干道、组团内道路的顺序进行命名,并注重历史和文化的沿袭。

The disordered nature of the names of different places in cities is a consequence of the absence of place name planning. Place name planning is a combination of toponymy and urban planning. It requires the coordination of urban planning, name management, and civil administration departments. The Xiamen city master plan includes a place name plan based on road hierarchy, order, history, and culture.
