案例研究方法在城市规划中的应用优势非常明显。城市规划是一门兼具综合性、实践性、动态性、地方性和政策性特点的学科,深入的案例研究可以使规划者、建设者、管理者置身于高度拟真的环境中亲身体验整个规划的过程,为今后的工作积累正确的方法和经验。城市规划案例学按照案例能够起到的作用和表现形式可以分为研究型案例研究和教学型案例研究两大类。通过案例研究的组织、案例的筛选、案例库的建立、案例方法与其他方法的协调应用等,案例研究方法应用前景非常广阔。

The advantages and application of case study technique is very important in urban planning. Urban planning is a complex, comprehensive, practical, dynamic, local, and political undertaking. Case studies give planners, developers, and city administrators experiences that simulate the urban planning process, improving their abilities. Case studies used in teaching can be divided into two categories, research, and pedagogic. The use of case studies in academics can be greatly improved by the establishment of a case study database. Increased access to case studies of various types, in combination with other methods, will improve the education of university planning programs.
