进入21世纪,教育尤其是高等教育扮演着越来越重要的角色,实现教育终身化和建立学习化社会已成为时代的要求。现代远程高等教育的特点和优势决定了它在构建学习型社会终身教育体系中的重要作用和基础地位。为此,应改变目前现代远程高等教育中以学历教育为主和过分功利性的现状,将其定位在面向成人教育、继续教育、各类职业培训等,使现代远程高等教育走进企业、走进社区、走进农村,从而构建有中国特色的学习型社会的终身教育体系。

In the 21st century, education, especially higher education plays a more and more important role. The realization of life-long education and the construction of learning society has become the demand of the times. The paper analyzes the important part the distance higher education plays in promoting lifelong education and constructing learning society, emphasizes its basic status and discusses its positions as adult education, continuing education and various occupational training, and proposes ways to constmct lifelong education and learning society with Chinese characteristics by expanding distance higher education into enterprises, communities and rural areas.
