A new information service model in academic libraries:Information commons

信息共享空间是一种新型的动态信息服务模式,集信息资源、信息网络、信息服务和物理空间为一体,是适应用户需求的学习和交流空间。介绍了信息共享空间的概念、特点和服务模式,阐述了建立资源共享空间的必要性,提出了信息共享空间建设、资源建设、人员建设和管理评估制度建设的建设思路。

Information commons, a new dynamic information service model in academic libraries, can meet the learning and commtmication needs of users by integrating the resources, service and physical space. This paper describes its concept, characteristics and service patterns with the necessity of establishing it in academic library discussed. Finally, the idea of how to integrate the space, resources, staff members and evaluation systems in academic libraries was proposed.
