On the Transliteration of Foreign Words in the Science and Technology Texts

本文从科技文本中外来词音译的历史、外来词音译的误区以及防避外来词音译误区的主体素质与技术措施等方面探讨了科技翻译中的音译问题,指出音译是当代科技高速发展环境下必不可少的翻译手段,音译有章可循,应防避误译,决不可误译。

In this article the author studies some problems about transliteration in science and technology translation from the aspects of the history of transliteration, the misleading of the foreign words translation and its prevention as well as the main diathesis and technical measures to prevent mis-transliteration in the scienti^c texts and believes that transliteration is the essential translation method in the condition of contemporary high-speed science and technology development and that there are some rules for transliteration and that we should prevent mis-trans-literation.
