摘要
语言是人类社会最重要的交际工具。习语是一种广泛流传并具有特定文化含意的固定词组和短语。英语和汉语都是高度发展的语言,拥有极其丰富的习语资源。本文分析了英汉习语文化色彩差异成因,对习语文化翻译的两种策略即归化和异化进行了初步探讨。
Language is the most important means by which people communicate with each other. Idioms are ex- pressions with specially-cultural meanings, which are widely spread. English and Chinese are highly-developed languages with rich idioms. This essay analyzes causes for cultural discrepancies in English and Chinese idioms, domestication and foreignization as two effective cultural translation strategies are discussed as well.
