Traditional methods and their advances in the surveillance of adverse drug reaction were reviewed.The utilization of more advanced automated database in the adverse drug reaction (ADR)research,computerized causality assessment of ADR and computerized surveillance of ADR were introduced. And the research trends and developing prospects of ADR were proposed.
