根据英语习语专家的研究，习语按照其习语性程度的不同表现为一个连续体，可从中区分出纯习语、半习语和准习语三类。这一分类有利于习语翻译策略的探究，因为不同类型的习语要求不同的翻译策略。本文拟从英语习语的层次性分类出发，探讨与不同类型习语相对应的翻译策略。

According to the research of some English idiom experts, idioms demonstrate a continuum in their idiomaticity. They can be stratified as pure idioms, semi-literal idioms and literal idioms by their degree of idiomaticity. This stratification will surely facilitate the probe into more effective strategies in the translation of English idioms, on condition that idioms on different stratums must call for various translation strategies. Moreover the authors try to explore the corresponding translation strategies for each idiom category.
