The conditions of reaction of Tungsten(Ⅵ) with a new reagent 3.5 dibromo 4 (4′ dimethylanilineazo) pheylfluorone (DBAMPF) were studied in the presence of CTMAB.In the 0.4 mol/L HCl medium,Tungsten(Ⅵ) reacts with DBAMPF to form a red ternary complex with maximum absorption at 532nm.The molor absorptivity being 1.28×10 5 L·mol -1 ·cm -1 .It abides by Beer′s law in the range of 0~10μg/25mL Tungsten(Ⅵ).The method has been used to determine Tungsten in alloy steels with satisfactory results.
