Inhibition effect of some REM salt inhibitors on zinc electrode in NH 4Cl electrolyte have been investigated by polarization resistance,polarization curve techniques and electrochemical impedance measurement.The results showed that REM ions could form a film of hydrated REM oxide at the active sites of zinc surface and create a barrier for hydrogen evolution.
