On Sallustius' Position in the History of Roman's Historiography

撒路斯提乌斯是罗马共和时期的政治家、史家。他的作品无论在选材上、写作上都有自己的独到之处。他从当代政治、军事事件入手,以道德为评价准绳,尽量客观地描述了共和时期罗马社会的发展状况,他的写作特点和他的史学思想对后来罗马和西方史家有一定影响。

Sallustius was a statesman and historian of Roman Republic. His works showed originality in the material- selecting-and composition. In an objective way he described the social development of Roman republic, beginning with the political and military. events and taking morality as the evaluation standard. Sallustius＇ writing characteristics and his thinking of historiography have influenced the later historians of Roman and the West.
